Grade 8 Chair Build

Grade 8 Chair Build

Mr. Drayton' 8th grade science class was tasked with designing and making a chair solely out of cardboard - no glue, staples, etc.  The student could use up to 4 square meters of cardboard

The chair needed to:

  • Be of normal chair height,
  • Have a back,
  • Hold 20 kg. of mass

The chairs were graded on creativity, how strong the back was and the amount of weight held (several held Mr. Drayton or two students standing on them!)
